Marketing is a matching process which leads
to higher profits, growth (if you want it) and a happier business
life. When I “do marketing” it starts with the
strengths and weaknesses of your organisation, the experience held
within your business and its resources. Then comes the market, most
likely starting in the market you are currently in and studying
its size, growth, what changes are happening and what opportunities
exist within. Then the matching process occurs, the core of ‘proper’
marketing. Matching the needs in the market place to the strengths,
skills and experience of your organisation to generate profitable
business. Where necessary identifying training and additional resources
your business needs.
This is true marketing. Advertising, leaflets, telemarketing, press
releases and cut prices are marketing communications and promotional
techniques. A marketing plan may use all or none of these techniques.
If they are required then I can of course help in their design or
